Welcome To Vail, Colorado

"A Culinary World Class Resort Destination"

Vail is located in the stunning central Rocky Mountains just 30 miles east of Eagle, Colorado, and just 100 miles west of Denver, Colorado, The town was established and built as the base village to Vail Ski Resort and is the largest ski mountain in Colorado. Only 4.5 square miles once there though you realize it's much bigger than it looks!

Vail may be known for its world class skiing but this resort destination offers visitors so much more. The small town feel and european touches gives these charming villages a must on your bucket list. Exploring the three villages is more of a weekend getaway than a one day event.

Vail Village offers world class restaurants, shopping, cafes and late night hot spots with heated streets in the winter (only found in Vail) that makes for an easy walk up Bridge Street to Gondola One.

Lionshead Village has an Austrian inpired style and is a 10-15 minute walk from Vail Village. Closed off to cars and buses, the Eagle Bahn gondola provides easy access to the slopes, and there’s a free shuttle to Vail Village. Lionhead Village is closer to the mountains and offers numerous restaurants, shops and an outdoor ice rink.

Golden Peak is home to Gopher Hill beginners’ ski area and a ski school. Out of the three this is the most peaceful place to stay, while the shops, restaurants and ski lift of Vail Village are within easy walking distance.

Glimpse Into Vail's Culinary Scene

From Colorado inspired cuisine at Terra Bistro, a 26 year old farm to table restaurant with dishes such as Rocky Mountain Trout with carrot puree, Lyonnaise potatoes, asparagus, lemon aioli paired with a colorado inspired cocktail made with Colorado spirit and finish your meal off with homemade gelato to The Remedy Bar, located in the Four Seasons and a favorite après hangout where you can enjoy dishes such as Elk Red Chili and Smoked Gouda, Dill Mac & Cheese while sipping "Elixirs", cocktails based on classic cures and tonics, (per the menu) while enjoying views of the mountains sitting inside or enjoying the year round patio with firepits outside, Vail has you covered on whatever you may be hungry for. A few more ways to experience Vail's food scene are the culinary tours we feature below and September's hot with events. At the beginning of September check out the Gourmet To Gore Event and Vail's Oktoberfest. And when in Rome..well in this case the Rocky Mountains take advantage of your beautiful surroundings while dining at these Mountain Top Restaurants and after a long day of shopping or hiking relax by the fire and sip on your favorite beverage at one of the world-class après spots Vail has to offer.
